Hello, Tillicum Tiger Families!

This October, we are focusing on reading and respect two ways our Tigers can grow as learners and strengthen our school community.

In reading, students are building their skills, discussing ideas, and learning to explain their thinking. Families can support this work by making time to read together. Ask your child, What did you learn or What in the story helped you understand? Reading aloud, listening to your child read, and talking about books all create opportunities to connect.

Our character attribute this month is respect. We are practicing listening when others speak, using kind words, caring for shared spaces, and valuing different ideas and backgrounds. At home, ask your child, How did you show respect today?

Throughout October, classes will work toward becoming our Class Champion for Respect. The winning class will celebrate with an ice cream party! We look forward to recognizing the thoughtful choices our students make each day.
